Solar Water Heating System Installation

In order to assure that the solar water heating system (solar thermal system) is working properly, Solar Heating Canada's certified engineers design and install the system to the existing water heating systems or install the solar thermal system to work independently. All solar domestic hot water systems are installed according to CSA (Canadian Standards Association) standards. Although an installation code does not exist for solar pool heating systems, SHC properly designs and installs the systems to last a long time while maintaining a high efficiency rate.

The installation of a solar water heating system requires 3 main steps:

  1. Estimate
  2. Design
  3. Installation

Estimate

Solar Heating Canada offers all its clients a free estimate. Our estimator explains to the client how many collectors are required, where they will be installed and how the system works. The estimator will also let the client know where, if required, the pipes will be buried. If the solar collectors are installed on the ground away from the pool or home the pipes will have to be buried for esthetics purposes. The certified estimator will schedule an appointment that is suitable for the client for the installation to take place. Schedule a free estimate today and start saving money and the environment!

Design

Once the client has decided to install a solar thermal system, our experienced engineers begin conducting the necessary calculations to determine the required amount of collectors, materials as well as the best location for the installation. The design is carefully considered along with the location of the collectors. This allows the installers to adequately install the solar water heating system and to assure that the best possible esthetic appeal is achieved.

Installation

Once the installation has been completed the solar system is turned on and tested. The system is explained to the client and a free check-up visit is scheduled a few months later. The installation usually requires a day or two to be completed. This depends on the number of collectors installed and on the distance they need to be installed away from the utility room/area.
